Who is Balance Ecological?

Balance Ecological is run by Monica Pearson, Registered Professional Biologist in the Province of British Columbia. I hold a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph, and a Diploma in Fish and Wildlife Management from the B.C. Institute of Techology. Balance Ecological is based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, and works across the South Coast from Powell River to Hope.

Before starting Balance Ecological, I worked with Metro Vancouver Watersheds, B.C. Hydro and B.C. Ministry of Environment specializing in riparian protection and management as well as project review. I began working with species-at-risk (SAR) in 2008 through the South Coast Conservation Program and have expertise in riparian and wetland species recovery.

In September 2010 I began a Masters degree in Environmental Design with the School of Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia. During this time I will be minimizing my consulting services, but will continue to work with the Oregon spotted frog and riparian restoration in the Fraser Valley.
